Hi, I’m Terri Brash, the grower and creator behind Homestead Gourmet Mushrooms, nestled in Ontario’s beautiful Ottawa Valley.

What began as a fascination with growing gourmet mushrooms at home grew into something much bigger — a working mushroom farm, a passion for learning, and now a desire to help other people discover that they can grow these incredible mushrooms too.

I’m a hands-on grower. I’ve learned through research, experimentation, successes, failures, contamination, unexpected harvests, and a whole lot of patience. The guides I create come from that real-world experience. My goal isn’t to make mushroom growing sound complicated or intimidating; it’s to explain it in a practical, approachable way so beginners can understand what they’re doing and why.

Today, I grow gourmet mushrooms for my local community through Homestead Gourmet Mushrooms, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned along the way.

From culture to harvest, everything starts with a little bit of mycelium — and a willingness to grow.
