Benoit Rousseau is a retired professor that has studied Gnosticism, Alchemy and mystical experiences for more than 30 years. To him, Carl Jung's late books are difficult to understand because the reader does not know that Jung is speaking about mystical experiences and the process leading to them. Jung used alchemical and Gnostic terminology to talk about those phenomena to those who would be able to understand him in the future.
