Dr. María Fernández is a physician and metabolic health researcher, best known as the creator of The Random Diet a well researched, patented approach to weight loss that is grounded in hormonal science, behavioral nutrition, and metabolic reset theory.
With over 25 years of experience in medicine and research, Dr. Fernández completed her M.D. at the University of Luxembourg and earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Luxembourg Institute of Health in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg. She later conducted postdoctoral studies in metabolic adaptation and nutritional endocrinology through a joint program with European Health Research Institutes based in Luxembourg.
Her academic work focuses on the hormonal regulators of appetite and metabolism, particularly the role of ghrelin, leptin, and insulin in adaptive thermogenesis and long-term weight regulation. She has published in leading journals on diet-induced mitochondrial response, metabolic flexibility, and the role of nutritional random approach in preventing fat-loss plateaus.
