I needed a curriculum that supported me just as much as I supported the child.
Teaching had become so heavy — full of pressure that didn’t reflect real human development. I wanted to return to the heart of Montessori: observation, connection, rhythm, and trust.
Around that same time, generative AI emerged in its earliest, most creatively open form. It wasn’t cautious yet. It wasn’t standardized. It responded with a kind of raw imagination that only existed for a brief moment.
I didn’t use it to “write a curriculum.”
I used it like a Montessori material — to expand my thinking, reveal patterns, and help me build something far larger than I could have held alone.
Across 2023–2025, I shaped the weekly themes, developmental arcs, stories, rituals, and subject flows. I aligned it to Montessori albums, refined every week, and made sure the structure truly held the guide.
By August 2025, The Spiral Companion became what I needed it to be:
A human, Montessori-grounded curriculum built with support from a uniquely creative moment in AI’s evolution.
I created it to return educators to meaning, rhythm, and presence —
so guides can feel held, steady, and ready to be fully human with children.
