FAQs

First, you fill out the contact form down below or email me at teka@threadwright.com with your general idea- if you have a character already developed, give me as much information as you can about them. I'll probably email back and forth with you a couple times to make sure we're on the same page and then I'll work on a couple of sketched out ideas. You can give input/tweaks to that design until we're both happy with it. Then, I'll go looking for fabrics and trim and other things we might need, and give you a preliminary price quote and a deposit amount. I'll send you a list of measurements I need you to take for me, and once I get those back, we're off to the races!

This entirely depends on how elaborate your ideas are and how expensive your taste is! What I charge you is cost of materials and my labor hours (and only add extra if you're a total nightmare to work with).

This also depends on what you're asking for as well as how deep in the Chaos Season (Jan-June) for my day job I am. If you have a solid deadline for needing your gear, make sure you let me know what that is as we start and I can work to that. Otherwise, I can usually accomplish most basic things within a month, and more elaborate things take longer from there. Remember, I am one person doing this full build with my own two hands, not a machine in a warehouse cranking out a million shirts an hour!

Then you have some homework to do! I'm happy to help offer ideas for communicating your character though both your gear and clothing design, as I spend my days working in theater where character is everything. I'm happy to get a series of "I want it to feel like this?" statements and Pinterest boards or inspiration images- whatever it takes for you to communicate your ideas to me.

Usually, no, but there are certain circumstances where I'll let you know I'm not your girl. Think of this like working with a tattoo artist- if they're not into what they're doing for you, they may not be doing their best work, and I want to make sure you get the best experience and final product that you can.
