About Me

I am a semi-retired SAR and Geomatics program manager. I now spend most of my time paddling Hawaiian outrigger canoes and also enjoy teaching and writing. My books on SAR and Image Geolocation are hosted on this site and on Amazon.

I was previously a government program manager and research scientist at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. I was the lead SAR Engineer in the Information Technology directorate, and I worked with brilliant people throughout the US Intelligence community to figure out how to do new things with SAR. My job was to throw javelins with our flag on them. I was also a Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Fellow.

I've has completed numerous SAR and Geomatics and training sessions at NGA and other U.S. agencies including the National Reconnaissance Office, Marine Corps Intelligence Activity, Naval Surface Weapons Center, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, United States Geologic Survey, United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation, United States Military Academy at West Point, and at geospatial organizations in Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
