ToysEngage started with a very familiar problem: finding educational materials that were either genuinely rigorous or genuinely enjoyable — but rarely both.
We wanted resources that respected children's intelligence without turning childhood into a stack of assignments.
So we started making our own.
We’re a family of former researchers turned homeschool parents.
Before homeschooling entered our lives, we were used to asking questions, looking closely at evidence, comparing sources, and digging much deeper than the first answer we found. Parenthood changed the subjects we were researching, but not the way we think.
ToysEngage grew from creating the kind of learning materials we wanted for our own child: thoughtful, accurate, interesting, beautiful, and genuinely enjoyable to use together.

Some resources are primarily informational, some are very hands-on, and many combine reading, discussion, observation, experiments, art, cooking, building, and time outdoors.
We're eclectic homeschoolers.
We appreciate ideas from Montessori, Charlotte Mason, nature study, project-based learning, traditional academics, and other approaches, but we don't try to make every resource fit neatly inside one educational philosophy.
We value strong foundational knowledge, real books, hands-on work, time outdoors, creativity, and giving children enough information to ask better questions.
Most importantly, we don't believe learning needs to be made loud, frantic, or heavily gamified to hold a child's attention. Interesting things are interesting.
It depends on the resource, and each product will list its suggested age or grade range. Many of our family studies are intentionally designed for a fairly broad span of children. Instead of creating completely separate lessons for every age, we often build different ways to participate into the same activity.
A younger child might listen, point, sort, draw, retell, or build. An older child might read independently, explain a process, compare ideas, research further, or complete a written response.
That makes them particularly useful for families learning together.
Yes. Most family studies are designed with this in mind. One purchase can be used within your immediate household, and activities are often adaptable across several ages.
