About Me

Hi, I’m Chelsea!

I’m not a gardening expert — I’m just someone who decided to learn how to grow things and share the journey along the way.

Trying to Garden Ontario started as a place to document my wins, my mistakes, the things I’m learning, and all the little moments that make gardening so rewarding. From seeds that surprise me, plants that don’t quite go as planned, and the excitement of watching something grow — I’m figuring it out one season at a time.

I created these gardening resources because I believe gardening should feel approachable. You don’t need a perfect garden, years of experience, or a huge space to start. You just need curiosity, a little patience, and a willingness to try.

My goal is to create simple tools that help other beginner gardeners feel encouraged, organized, and excited to grow their own little piece of green.

Thanks for being here and following along on this growing adventure.

Your beginner-friendly guide to growing a garden (even if you’re still figuring it out)

Hi, I’m the person behind @tryingtogardenontario — just learning, experimenting, and trying my best to grow something beautiful one season at a time.

I created this gardening journal for anyone who wants to start gardening but doesn’t know where to begin. This isn’t a “perfect gardener” guide — it’s a place to learn, make mistakes, celebrate little wins, and keep track of what you’re growing along the way.

Inside you’ll find a simple space to record your gardening journey, plan your season, and document the things you learn as you grow.

Whether you have a backyard garden, a few pots on a balcony, or you’re just curious about growing your own food — this journal is a place to start.

🌿 No pressure.

🌿 No perfection required.

🌿 Just roots, records, and the joy of learning.

This journal is completely free because I believe gardening should feel welcoming and accessible to everyone. I hope it helps you start your own growing journey.

Happy gardening 🤍
