About Me
Hi, I'm Katie.
I spent years working in child welfare, law enforcement, security services, emergency medical work, and corrections. I was good at absorbing what those fields required — until my body made clear that absorbing and processing are not the same thing. The chronic stress of those careers played a significant role in my getting sick, and what followed was an education in everything I wish I had known sooner.
That education is what I write about.
After the Shift gives high-stress personnel the nervous system recovery tools nobody handed them at orientation. I've Been Diagnosed with Chronic Illness... Now What? meets people in the disorienting aftermath of a diagnosis and helps them find their footing. Both books exist because I needed them and they didn't yet.
Unbounded Becoming is where I put everything I am building for people navigating hard things — with honesty, real science, and language that respects what you are actually living through
You are in the right place.
