i'm Valya, a photographer and visual artist based in london.

the zines are available as digital publications, while the photographs are provided as high-resolution files prepared for quality printing up to a2 size at 300 dpi.

my work moves between documentary, performance and personal storytelling, exploring the subtle intersections between the everyday and the unconscious. i am interested in how memory, dreams, rituals and loss shape our experience of reality, and how images can hold what is difficult to name.

i work primarily with analogue photography, rare vintage lenses, hand-printing techniques and zine-making, treating photography as a tactile and ritual process, where the image becomes a carrier of memory and sensation.

my work has been exhibited internationally, including in London, Rome and online platforms. i was the winner of the 2024 julia margaret cameron award in the professional category. i am also the co-founder of KiNO, an international educational initiative focused on visual storytelling, where i teach photography and filmmaking.
