After training as an astronomer and subsequently working in the industrial R&D sector, Vaughan Stanger now writes speculative fiction full-time. He has seen over sixty of his short stories published, including in the Best of British Science Fiction 2022 and 2025, Nature Futures, and Interzone. Many of his stories have been reprinted, including ten in foreign translations, or featured in podcasts. His most recent collection of short fiction is "Those We Leave Behind and other stories", which is available from the usual online stores.
