I’m Dequaun Lynn Hall, a Detroit writer and the creator of WHOO NUU. My books tell stories about family, fatherhood, loss, survival, justice, and rebuilding after life changes everything. My writing comes from lived experience and the records surrounding a criminal case that became a major part of my life. I write about what happened, what the documents show, what I experienced, and what it took to keep moving forward. My goal is bigger than telling my own story. I want my books to speak to people who have been judged, misunderstood, separated from family, or forced to rebuild after losing time they can never get back.
