About Me

Dr. Tamunokuro Opubo William-West is a distinguished educator and passionate advocate for mathematical literacy. He earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Mathematics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, completing his doctorate in 2023. With over 17 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership, Dr. William-West has left an indelible mark on the education sector.


His teaching journey spans across primary, secondary, and A-level institutions, where he has inspired countless students to embrace the beauty of mathematics. He began his career as a classroom teacher at Danbo International School, Kaduna, and Premier International School, Abuja. Rising through the ranks, he served as the Head of Faculty of Mathematics and Science at Lead British International School before becoming the Deputy Head of College (Academics) at Aduvie Preuniversity College, Abuja.


Beyond the classroom, Dr. William-West is known for his innovative approach to mathematics education. He has developed performance evaluation tools, led successful school-wide numeracy initiatives, and established programs to support gifted learners. His leadership in education is driven by a belief that math is not just about numbers and formulas, but a way to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.


In addition to his academic accomplishments, Dr. William-West is a prolific writer and speaker. He has authored several scholarly papers on mathematics and has presented at national and international conferences. His research focuses on fostering deeper conceptual understanding and reducing math anxiety among students.


When he's not immersed in the world of numbers, Dr. William-West enjoys mentoring young educators, exploring new teaching technologies, and spending time with his family. He is deeply to committed to creating an educational environment where every learner, regardless of background, can thrive in mathematics.
