Ottoman Empire

Vast Islamic state that lasted from around 1299 to 1922. At its height, it controlled territory across three continents including much of Southeast Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa. It was centered in Anatolia (modern Turkey) with its capital at Constantinople (now Istanbul) and was known for its powerful military, administrative system, and influence on regional culture and trade.
