Jamie's Sourdough Starter Skillet Pizza

Let's transform gut health the fun way!!! Considering I eat Whole Foods and still love a good pizza, I found a way to have best of both worlds!!! With all the good bacteria and benefits included!

Sourdough pizza does not have to be complicated. Who has time to worry about making a ball of dough and giving it time to rest? I know sometimes I do not! As ya’ll may know my channel here at @wild_artfully_me shows the easier path to complicated things. I am all about taking the novice and giving you amazing recipes that you are sure to conquer! Sourdough has many benefits for our gut microbiome! Giving us a diverse amount of bacteria that boosts immunity and promotes overall well being. IBS or irritable bowel syndrome is an ex friend of mine and one that I refuse to let return.

Through diet and a rich amount of all natural probiotics, I was able to get off low FOD map completely as well as pills from my gastroenterologist.

Do you struggle with IBS and need continued support? I offer wild fermentation zoom one on one calls that help guide you through a fermented process together. I also offer a 4 week lifestyle living program where I walk you through the mediterrean diet with recipes and, your choice of my wild fermented recipes as well. In this process we check in once a week to see how things are going. Let me help you create tiny habits that make a longer future. The recipe to start a wildly fermented sourdough starter is in my book which you can find in the link below!

Now let’s talk about this sourdough pizza thing that I am obsessed with and I know you will be too. The only thing you need to make sure of is that you feed your sourdough starter the night before. Ensuring you have an active starter before you use it that it is nice and bubbly or looks like it has holes on the sides. See my Youtube video below for reference. This pizza has that tang and yet gives so much comfort. Its literally gut health and comfort in one meal!

This will cook so fast that if you want cooked or sauteed veg, go ahead and do that prior to following instructions. For example I usually saute some peppers and onions and then place it aside in a bowl.

As for the pan I always use a hot cast iron but with that being said I feel this particular recipe would work great even with a non-stick pan. Simply because if you make your starter a pancake consistency and you know how to cook a pancake..then well this will go really well for you. Or maybe you need to find a way to use up your starter? What a great and fast way to get the job done!

Let me know which pan you use! This personal pan pizza will be your new favorite go to!

LET’S DO THIS!!!

Did you realize by now there is no dough or added flour involved as well as no oven? Shocked huh? Right?!!! Practically gluten free. Who would have thought, being able to eat a pizza with no bloat!! YEAH BABY, YEAH!!

You will need:

already fed sourdough starter

non stick I only use cast iron tho

Extra virgin olive oil, salt, Italian seasoning

Pizza sauce of your choice

Cheese of your choice

Toppings of your choice; Remember to saute hard veg like peppers/onions prior. Place aside in a small bowl

Get your pan hot on medium heat and add in 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil and warm until it sizzles. Go ahead and begin pouring your sourdough starter into the pan. Think about this like a pancake and using a spoon quickly smooth it out into a circle. Use the youtube video below for reference. Then quickly sprinkle on salt and Italian seasoning. Let cook exactly like a pancake. Flipping when looking holey and ready. Once you flip add your marinara sauce and spoon out evenly. Add ingredients to your liking. I added on my sauteed peppers and onions, and feta for a mediterranean twist. Yes go ahead and be extra and sprinkle more Italian seasoning on top. Quickly cover pan with lid and turn off heat. Let sit for four to five minutes or longer if you added too much cheese.

Enjoy!

This truly is my favorite go to recipe and takes less than 10 mins!!
