Passion, Precision & Compassion in Every Groom

My name is Marcelino Velez Huerta, and I’m passionate about the art and care of professional pet grooming.

For me, grooming is much more than simply giving a dog a haircut. It is about understanding the individual dog — their breed, coat type, skin condition, structure, temperament, lifestyle, and comfort — and using that knowledge to provide a safe, practical, and beautiful groom.

I have developed a strong interest in breed-specific trims, coat care, scissoring, clipping, de-shedding, bathing, finishing, and overall grooming maintenance. I believe that every coat presents a different challenge, and every dog deserves an approach tailored specifically to them.

MY APPROACH

My grooming philosophy is built around three principles:

CARE — The dog's comfort, safety, and wellbeing always come first.

KNOWLEDGE — Understanding the coat before choosing the tools or haircut is essential for achieving professional results.

PRECISION — A great groom comes from attention to detail, balanced proportions, proper technique, and patience.

I created this ebook to bring together the techniques, patterns, tools, and practical knowledge that can help groomers make better decisions when working with different breeds and coat types.

Whether you're learning your first grooming techniques, working as a grooming assistant, developing your skills as a professional groomer, or simply looking to better understand canine coat care, my goal is to make grooming knowledge clear, practical, and easy to apply.

Every dog is different.

Every coat tells a story.

And every groom is an opportunity to make that dog look, feel, and live better.

Welcome to my grooming guide — and thank you for allowing me to share my passion for the craft.
