I am Jordan Eley, Founder & CEO of Hounds & Hooves a multi award winning, six figure dog training and activity centre. I have spent the last ten years creating a sustainable and profitable business that gives me and my family financial freedom and an incredible work life balance.
Ten years ago I started my dog walking business with £50 and a beat up renault clio. I had no plan, no clients and no experience of marketing or building a business. Just a huge love for dogs and a passion to make their lives better.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was the business set up and how to scale. The dog industry is unregulated and is still very much seen as a hobby. The ripple effect of this is we dont charge appropriately for the services we offer, we dont have proper foundations in place so when clients dont pay or when it becomes obvious that your clients dog isnt suitable for the service you offer. We lose out; not just financially but emotionally to.
Being able to help people, show YOU how to make things work for YOU is something I feel hugely passionate about. I am living proof that you dont need to cut corners and that your ethics and beliefs can remain at the fore of what you do AND still create that work life balance you crave.
