About Me

Ysabella Catanese is an artist and singer. In her first book, I Am Not Your Art, seeks the best medium to express her experiences and emotional feelings. However, such a medium would serve as a camouflage for her awful, sad and passionate experiences . She has always dreamed of having a diary and when she saw that it could be found, she decided to experiment with poetry so that her anecdotes couldn’t be deciphered. Over the years, she has delved deeper into her method of expression and has composed in order to know and find herself in life and through all the heartbreaks that have made her lose and forget her true brightness and essence.

This form of liberation and desire to fill her days with rhymes motivated her to want to embellish her experiences to the point of feeling that art was her only escape from a reality full of loneliness and loves that did not prosper, leading her to fantasy and filling her with a deep melancholy that is transmitted throughout her lyricism. For her, art is her life and her numens... who have given life to this book. Catanese has also experienced a musical life that is reflected in the metaphors of the poem that gives its name to the subtitle of the book, “The Fiercest Cellist.”

These poems were mostly written and intended to be songs.
