About Me

Allen Mereng is a Kenyan author and development strategist whose work moves between public policy, infrastructure planning, regional economic integration, and community-level storytelling. His writing is united by one throughline: examining how institutions — government, markets, and grassroots organizations — earn trust and deliver real change for the people they serve.

In Rethinking Affordable Housing: The Golden Keys to a Second Term, he examines Kenya’s Affordable Housing Programme as a case study in the tension between bold policy ambition and public patience, drawing on political economy, institutional theory, and behavioral economics to argue that durable reform is built on accountability as much as vision.

That same institutional lens shapes his other work: the South Rift Digital Tea Exchange proposal, a feasibility concept for an integrated dry port and digital trading platform designed to close the gap between Kenya’s tea commodity markets and verified physical logistics; and NOREB: Re-ignition of the Norebian’s Social Contract, which explores how regional economic blocs can merge shared markets with cultural identity and peace-building across the North Rift.

Champion Taekwondo Revolutionaries rounds out the body of work with a more personal register — a grassroots account of building sporting and community infrastructure in Kerio Valley, reflecting the same conviction that runs through his policy writing: that lasting institutions are built from the ground up, one structure of trust at a time.

Allen Mereng writes at the intersection of governance, infrastructure, and community development, with a consistent focus on turning ambitious ideas into accountable, workable systems.
