Asor is a multidisciplinary artist based in Madrid but artistically grown up among Colombia, Mozambique, Costa Rica and Spain. As self-taught illustrator, her work is strongly influenced by African-American roots and women imagery. As a result, a personal female world, together with pets & urban wildlife stand out in her colorful and powerful portraits and allegories. Asor´s technique include pencil, acrylic but mainly computer generated works that integrate strong graphic quality. Her compositions depict compact views that often have literary references, heightening the image's mood and its familiar or political meaning. Her concern is always close to popular culture and movements—illustrating storyteller works, postcards, walls or feminist publications. Her ability as an outsider artist is not involved with retaining details but with the utter freshness of her sometimes naive, sometimes harsh visions of the world around.
