BBC Article: Netflix - read, watch, find out & discuss

The BBC produces well-written topical articles, which I often create Padlets out of for use in my sessions. In the Padlet, I’ve included some pre-reading discussion points as well as an interactive and printable crossword vocabulary exercise.

Participants can read the text in 2 different ways, online at the BBC, and as a Word document (complete with vocabulary list). As always there are a number of pre-reading activities, questions, and two graphs to train to describe graphs (these could be used as add-ons to the Padlet Soft Skills. How to describe trends.)

I selected 3 statements from the article to ask participants to give their views. I highlighted Phrasal Verbs in these statements and listed 10 from the article as a whole. There is a link to a Quizlet learning set with over 120 different Phrasal verbs (unfortunately, it’s not my work!!!).

Finally, I would ask participants “What advice would you give to the leadership of Netflix going forward?”, show them the ‘making suggestions’ list and see what they come up with.
