"Nihon no Shiki" means "Japan's four seasons."While many places in the world have seasons, the changes in Hokkaido—Japan's northernmost island—are uniquely dramatic and deeply beautiful.

As a photographer based in Japan, I have captured the quiet transitions of nature throughout the year. This digital photo book contains 17 carefully selected photographs that tell the story of Hokkaido's changing faces.

🌸 Spring (Haru):The awakening of life. Delicate cherry blossoms (Sakura) and the vibrant purple of Katakuri (Asian fawnlily) flowers blooming quietly after the long snow melts.

🌻 Summer (Natsu):A burst of color and life. Endless fields of lavender, the deep blue of the summer sea, lush green rice paddies, and the crystal-clear, refreshing spring waters of Fukidashi Park.

🍁 Autumn (Aki):A breathtaking transformation. Deep gorges painted in warm autumn colors, striking crimson Kochia bushes, and rural farming landscapes glowing under the autumn sun.

❄️ Winter (Fuyu):The silent world of white. Mysterious ice sculptures formed on frozen lakes, autumn leaves surprisingly blanketed by early snow, and a mother deer and her fawn standing quietly in the deep winter snow.
