Workshop Hazardous Chemicals Register & SDS Tracker (AU) - Excel & Google Sheets
Know which Safety Data Sheets are out of date, what's stored where, and what needs fixing, before an inspector or client asks.
What's inside
- Chemical Register: one row per product with location, max quantity, use, signal word, hazard classes, DG class and UN no., SDS date and where the SDS is kept. Works out the 5-year SDS review date, days left and a red / amber / green status. Products you remove grey out but stay on record.
- Summary: SDS overdue, due soon or missing, risk assessments and labels not done, and counts by DG class and by storage location.
- Storage Check: a printable monthly walk-around for cabinets, gas cylinders, labels, spill kits and PPE, with six inspection columns and an actions list.
- Spill & Exposure Log: what happened, clean-up, first aid, who was told, the fix and the date closed.
- DG Class Key: plain-English Dangerous Goods classes with typical workshop examples.
- BLANK + EXAMPLE files (a made-up fab shop), an Instructions tab and a 1-page PDF quick-start guide.
Good to know
- Excel and Google Sheets. No macros, works offline. Prints A4 landscape for the paper backup regulators recommend.
- 200 products and 100 spill / exposure records.
- It's a spreadsheet, so it doesn't send reminders.
- A record-keeping aid only. It doesn't decide whether a product is hazardous, work out placard or manifest quantities, replace an SDS, or give legal, WHS or dangerous-goods advice.
