Cas Hat accompanies the Cas shawl, released earlier this year.
The pattern is worked in the round, beginning with a ribbed brim. It features a single cable motif (based on my Cas Shawl pattern), worked in two colours, over garter stitch. It is finished with a gathered crown, for a slightly slouchy fit. The pattern is worked in the round, with only one colour per row. Cable stitches are slipped when working a round in the ‘other’ colour.
Skills required: garter stitch in the round, working cables in two colours, slipping stitches, elongated stitches. The main difficulty with this pattern is that there are quite a lot of slightly different cable stitches, so the cable requires attention.
Cable instructions are provided in both written and charted form.
