This is a pattern for a slightly slouchy beanie style hat worked from the brim rib up and in the round using the stranded colourwork knitting technique.


You may knit from a choice of 2 charts. The chart on Page 2 has 3 colours over a number of rounds, you may work it like that or with 2 and add the flowers with Duplicate Stitch, later. You may also use scarp yarn to embroider flower centres, if you use the chart on Page 3 (seen in sample).


yarn:

2 Ply Jumper Weight by Jamieson & Smith; Light Fingering; 100% Shetland 125yds (115m) / 25 grams

approximate yarn amounts:

colour A (36) - 35g; 175yds / 161m

colour B (72) - 12g; 60yds / 55m

colour C (FC11) - 12g; 60yds / 55m

waste yarn for embroidery

needles:

2.5mm (us no 1.5) circular needle 24in/10cm

3.0mm (us no 2.5) circular needle 24in/10cm

gauge:

28 sts x 32 rows = 4in/10cm on larger needles and over stranded stockinette

approximate finished size:

one size fits many; 21-25 in/53cm-63.5 cm head

You may make small adjustments to size by increasing needle size (this may affect your yarn amounts).
