Year 10 Maths Practice Exams A and B (school licence)

Two full Year 10 maths practice exams for the New Zealand Curriculum, with answers, marking notes and a simple way to turn the marks into a progress descriptor.

What's included:

• Practice Exam A and Practice Exam B: 2 hours and 125 marks each, on the Year 10 teaching sequence (Number, Algebra, Measurement, Geometry and Probability). Each strand runs from quick questions to Section 3, which goes beyond Year 10. Word files with a box for your school logo, your school name and a date line, plus print-ready PDFs.
• Answers and marking notes for both versions: what earns each mark, what to accept, and common wrong answers.
• A Year 10 resource sheet: area and volume formulae (including circles, prisms, cylinders and pyramids), Pythagoras and the distance formula, gradient, metric prefixes, scale factors and the angle rules.
• A 3-page judgement guide in colour and in black and white: cut scores from Emerging to Exceeding, worked examples, and how they fit the Ministry of Education's guidance on progress descriptors.

The same structure, marks and cut scores as the Year 9 Practice Exams, so the two years line up.

School licence: every teacher and student at one school may use and copy these files, including on your school's learning platform. Please don't share them outside your school.
