Lesson_46_Stolen_Blessing
Isaac is now old, blind, and thinks he is about to die. He decides to give his final, prophetic blessing to his
favorite son, Esau, in secret. But Rebekah overhears and helps her favorite son, Jacob, steal the blessing! She
cooks a savory stew, puts Esau's clothes on Jacob so he smells right, and ties goatskins to his hands so he feels
hairy. Isaac is suspicious ('The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau'), but he is
ultimately fooled. Today, we'll explore how the five senses work, the heavy cost of lying, and the irrevocable
nature of a spoken blessing.
