The Far Side of Winter

Space is vast. The information you need to survive it is not always reliable.

When the Mentusa responds to a distress call near the Pelion system, Captain Kesla and his crew face a growing crisis. The Vesper Event, a rare stellar phenomenon involving two stars, is arriving ahead of schedule. Shifting particle fields threaten navigation systems, distort sensor readings and make safe passage increasingly uncertain.

Three expedition vessels are attempting to return home, but their leaders disagree over the best route. With neither option clearly safe, Kesla and his crew must combine observations, assess competing plans and adapt as new information arrives.

Finding a missing ship is only the beginning. Getting everyone home will require patience, sound judgement and the courage to change a plan when the evidence demands it.

The seventh Mentusa Chronicles adventure is a grounded science-fiction story about exploration, teamwork, uncertain navigation and the decisions that matter when lives depend on getting things right.
