The Saints: St. Basil the Great

Read a brief biography on one of the early church fathers, St. Basil the Great. He was an advocate for the Nicean Creed and dedicated his life to putting an end to Arianism and caring for the poor. He debated many who denied the Holy Trinity and spent is family fortune caring for the poor, sick, and needy. He is a great saint whose feast day we celebrate on January 2 for the Roman Rite and January 1 for the Eastern Rite.
