"1972" EP (Gina Sedman)
International recording artist Gina Sedman, originally from California and now based in the UK, is excited to announce the release of her highly anticipated 1972 EP, set to debut on February 14, 2025. This four-track project blends the soulful grooves of the 1970s with modern R&B and funk influences, providing a nostalgic yet fresh musical experience.
The 1972 EP is a prelude to Gina’s upcoming full-length album, 1972, scheduled for release on June 1, 2025. The EP includes four standout tracks: In One Day, Give Love, 1972, and It Was Amazing. Each song showcases Gina’s signature ability to craft music that resonates deeply with listeners. In One Day offers a soulful reflection on life’s surprises, while Give Love highlights the transformative power of kindness. The title track, 1972, pays homage to the funky spirit of a beloved era, and It Was Amazing provides a modern reinterpretation of Amazing Grace.
To bring the 1972 EP to life, Gina Sedman collaborated with an exceptional team of musicians to craft a rich and dynamic sound. Andrew Sedman of the UK jazz fusion band Cong-Fusion contributed percussion on all songs, while Felipe Avellaneda added depth with his work on organ, strings, and keys. Michael J. Calhoun of the Kinsman Dazz Band lent his talents on guitar for the track Give.Love, with his bandmate Chris Cuda enriching the arrangement on horns for the same song. Ryan McCaffrey of Cong-Fusion provided additional layers with piano and strings on Give Love and In One Day, clavinet on the title track 1972, and keys, organ, and strings on It Was Amazing. Gina herself played a pivotal role, contributing bass, strings, and both lead and backing vocals, while also managing the production, arrangement, mixing, and mastering to ensure her artistic vision was fully realized. All lyrics, arrangements, lead and backing vocals, bass, and compositions were created by Gina Sedman.
