About Me

Gina Sedman is a multi award winning soul and funk artist originally from California and now based in the United Kingdom. She is known for her retro seventies inspired style, her wide vocal range, her bright smile, and a voice that is instantly recognisable. Her warm presence and free spirited nature have led many to call her the Black Girl Hippy, with music that blends classic funk and soul influences with thoughtful, message driven lyrics rooted in authentic independent artistry.

She is a fully self contained creative force who writes, sings, produces, directs, mixes, masters, and edits her own music and films. She also plays instruments including bass, synth keyboards, horns, and strings on many of her songs, shaping what many describe as the Gina sound. As an experienced journalist, she has written and conducted more than three hundred and fifty interviews with A list celebrities and independent artists combined, including The O’Jays, Doug E Fresh, Kenny Lattimore, and the late Oscar award winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. She has recently completed her seventeenth film and her seventeenth album alongside her latest release Who’s Clyde, continuing her signature fusion of cinematic storytelling and music.

Gina is the founder and chief executive of GNA Universal Media, Gico Music, NDME TV Network, The Indie Post Magazine, What Is Hip Magazine, and Indie Soul Radio. She continues to champion independent creativity across music, film, and media.
