Gina Sedman Announces New Soul & Funk Album Who’s Clyde with First Single “Giving It Back”

Singer, songwriter, and producer Gina Sedman will release her highly anticipated two-sided soul and funk album, Who’s Clyde, on 1 June 2026. The album’s first single, “Giving It Back,” will be released exclusively on radio on 1 March 2026, followed by the second single, “Sho Nuf Funkeee,” arriving 1 May 2026.

“Giving It Back” is a smooth, soul-driven track built around a deep, funky bassline. The single features renowned bassist Robert Peewee Hill, whose credits include performances with Thelma Houston and Billy Preston, alongside her husband, Andrew Sedman, on percussion. The song celebrates balanced love — finally experiencing a relationship where love is returned in the same way it is given, with mutual care, shared joy, and harmony.

Who’s Clyde is inspired by the classic 1970s soundtrack era and movies, including Curtis Mayfield’s Super Fly and Claudine. Side S (Soul) centres on love, life, and gratitude, while Side F (Funk) serves as the soundtrack to the upcoming 1970s family comedy film Who’s Clyde, written, produced, filmed, edited, and directed by Gina Sedman. Each track stands independently while contributing to the larger story, blending heartfelt soul, playful funk, and authentic 1970s-inspired arrangements.

All songs on the album were written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Gina Sedman, who also performs lead vocals, backing vocal arrangements, strings, synth-horn arrangements, and bass on select tracks. Andrew Sedman performs percussion, and Robert “Peewee” Hill plays bass on select tracks. No AI-generated sounds, instruments, or vocals were used in the creation of the album. Every track was written, produced, arranged, and performed entirely by Gina Sedman, making it 100% human, 100% real, and fully authentic.
