Contrail is a garter stitch and slipped stitch shawl, knitted with two colours of fingering/4 ply yarn. It is an asymmetric triangle shawl, knitted on the bias, increasing outwards from the top right point of the triangle.

Yarn Requirements
764 yards/700 metres total of fingering/4 ply yarn in the following amounts:
MC - 382 yards/350 metres
CC - 382 yards/350 metres

Shown in Adagio Mills Alpaca 4 ply (100% Australian Alpaca; 191 yards/175 metres per 50 grams):
MC - Clouds, 2 balls, 
CC - Concerto, 2 balls.

Needles & Notions
6 US/4 mm circular needles, 32-40 inches/80-100 cm long,
Removeable stitch marker (optional),
Yarn/wool needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge
18 sts and 36 rows per 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch after blocking.
Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.
