The Leipziger hat is knitted seamless in the round from the bottom up with alternating twisted knit and purl stitches. Simple, elegant, classic hat, that could be worn slouchy as well as a cap with folding edge and is double faced.

Sizes
The pattern is written for three sizes to fit 48-52 (52-56, 57-60) cm // 19-20 (20-22, 22-24)in head circumference with a finished length of ca. 25 cm (9.8 in) incl. 5 cm (2 in) folding brim.

Yarn
Approx. 75 (85, 95) g of sport weight yarn Milo from Manos del Uruguay, 65% merino wool and 35% linen, with 347 m (380 yds) in 100 g skein held double, shown in color Baltico; 
or a total of 130 (147, 165) m // 141 (162, 181) yds of any worsted weight yarn held single. 
Any yarn or combination of yarns that give a matching gauge will work.

Needles and notions
3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles with a 40 cm (16 in) or 60 cm (24 in) long cable;
a set of double pointed needles (DPNs) for shaping the crown (optional); 
one stitch marker;
a tapestry needle or a crochet hook to close the crown and weave in the ends.

Gauge
20 sts and 30 rnds in 10 cm (4 in) with 1x1 half twisted ribbing (k1tbl, p1) after blocking on 3.5 mm (US 4) needles.
