Multi-Step Equations with Distributive Property Around the Clock Partner Scavenger Hunt | Variables on Both Sides
Give students a partner-based way to practice solving multi-step equations with variables on both sides using this Multi-Step Equations with Distributive Property Around the Clock Partner Scavenger Hunt. This activity focuses on equations that include the distributive property.
Each partner has their own clock with 12 unique problems. The problems are different for each partner, but the answers and clock placement are the same. This gives students a chance to solve independently, compare answers, and work together to find mistakes if their answers do not match.
Students begin with the problem marked by a star and glue it to the 12 o’clock spot. After solving, they find the matching answer at the top of another problem card and glue that card to the 1 o’clock spot. Students continue solving and matching until they move around the clock and return back to the 12 o’clock spot.
