Hagrid Illusion Shawl - PDF knitting pattern
This Hagrid illusion knit shawl is based on the character from the J.K.Rowling Harry Potter books.
Although the design is shown as a shawl it could easily be changed to be a centre piece for an afghan or bedspread or as a panel on a wall hanging.
When you look straight at the knitting you only see stripes. As you move around wearing the shawl people will see Hagrid appear and disappear. One of the photos show what you see when you look directly at it.
I used Stylecraft Special DK in Dark Green and Lemon (2 balls of each) and my finished shawl measures 140 cm by 70 cm. You could use other weights of yarn but this would probably change the oveall size.
Illusion knitting is much easier than it looks. This could be made by most knitters. The pattern contains various versions of the chart including one specially designed to be used on a phone or tablet.
