Where I Belong
Between Two Worlds Collection
Where I Belong explores the feeling of standing between two versions of yourself — the life you came from and the life you are trying to build.
A solitary woman emerges between the stillness of the trees and the towering city beyond. Both landscapes seem to exist within her as much as around her. She belongs completely to neither, yet carries pieces of both.
For me, this piece reflects what happens when life changes you so deeply that returning to who you once were is impossible, but becoming comfortable with who you are now takes time. There can be a strange space between survival and truly living — between the person shaped by the past and the person still becoming.
The small flashes of orange break through the monochrome like fragments of warmth and life: a reminder that even amongst uncertainty, something within us continues to burn.
Where I Belong is part of the Between Two Worlds Collection, exploring identity, transition, belonging and the distance between where we have been and where we are going.
