Aconchego is an embrace, a touch of warmth that goes straight to your heart and fills your soul. That’s what this shawl represents.
It starts with only one stitch, increasing one stitch at every row, a relaxing project to knit while talking to your friends at the end of the day or binge-watching your favourite tv series.
The border, on the other hand, requires your full attention, as the lace is more challenging.
After the first ten rows, you can start to relax once more.
As the final rows are near, it gets even easier. And in a flash, the shawl is off your needles and ready to block and use!
Yarn and notions
Yarn: Bio Shetland from BC Garn, 2 skeins from each colour (colours 31 and 41)
Size: 165cm x 75 cm / 66” x 29,5”; easily adjustable
Needles: 3,5 mm / US 5 (or other suitable to obtain gauge)
Gauge (not relevant, but will change the final size): 31 rows and 22 sts = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4” x 4” (stockinette stitch, relaxed after blocking)
Notions: Clip on stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking wires and pins
Both charts and line by line instructions are provided.
