Big Jim Shawl - a knitting pattern
One thing is sure - it’s sooooooo cozy!
The shawl begins at the center with a Garter stitch triangle which features simple patterning for visual effect. Once you knit the yarnovers along the edges, you will increase sts and begin Faux Flame part. After completing the simple garter border, you may attach a row of tassels in CC to create a lovely looking fringe.
One size: approx. 172.5 cm/69” wide and 80 cm/32” long at center spine (without fringe).
Clara Yarn Shetland 1.0 (100% Shetland wool; 274m/300y per 92g); 2 skeins MC and 1 skein CC. Shown in Moorit (MC) and Mooskit (CC).
4.00 mm/US #6 circular needle (80 cm/32” long).
4 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving.
16 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm/4” in Garter st measured flat after wet blocking.
The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage.
