As we come to the end of the year, it's celebration time across the island. December brings with it the much-anticipated Festive Season, with great feasts and parties prepared across Bali, many featured in this latest edition

It's interesting to see how Bali, a Hindu-majority island, so readily embraces the traditions of others. Of course, there are other religions on the island and as we lead up to Christmas we take a look at Bali's unique Christian communities that walk between our understanding of 'culture' and 'faith'.

Importantly, the year's end also welcomes the rainy season (also much-anticipated!). Yet, the rains that wash across the lands bring about the harsh realities of Bali's waste problems. That's why this November-December edition puts the island's eco-heroes in the spotlight, those who are striving to protect, conserve and recover Bali's environment.
