How To Become an “A” Student and Get a Scholarship

ABOUT THE ITEM

DESCRIPTION

Pictures are very important in learning because if you cannot picture something, you don't know it. It is also a fact that pictures are very difficult to forget. Vision being one of our five senses, takes precedence over the others. A large part of the brain is dedicated to vision. Our brain sees words as lots of tiny pictues. Therefore,Information is stored in the mind in form of pictures. That is why abstracts are difficult to remember. Hear a piece of information, and a few days later, you will remember less than fifty percent of it. Add a picture, you will remember ninety percent. That is the reason abstracts must be converted into pictures in order to easily recall them. For an example, you can convert the name of someone into a picture by associating the name with the picture of a namesake. Let us suppose the name of your school is St. Joseph's College. You will never forget the picture because it is a known picture. If you come across any Joseph, you could associate the name with your school. Anytime you want to remember his name, just think about your school since they have the same name. That is one hundred percent effective. To remember the name of a substance requires a different technique. You have to pronounce the name and get the pictures that came out of the pronunciation. Then connect the pictures to the subject matter. For an example, a mountain's name in the USA is Fredonia. When you pronounce it, it sounds like free donut. Visualize a donut shop on top of a mountain giving away free donuts to runners. That will help you to remember the name.
These picturization techniques could be applied to all categories of information we find in our text books including names of people, names of substances, formulas, terminologies, diagrams, labels, dates, numbers, and events. However, every technique is unique to a particular information as illustrated above. Once you know how to picturize information, you will love to study and you will not forget what you studied. This will also help you to cut down on your study time. In this twenty five page short book being marketed through a world renowned book distribution platform, you will learn (a) How to plan your schedule for excellent performance.
(b)How to encode information by converting abstracts into pictures.
(c)How to study effectively.
(d) How to prepare for, and excel in examinations.
