Fund a Little Library Donation: 1 Novelette!
For 5.00, I will donate one of my novelettes (The Little Tales of Rehavan series) to a local Little Library for free access by the community. If you wish, I will sign them with a note including your name, saying "Donated on behalf of _____."
Little Free Libraries are an amazing initiative created with the goal of spreading free access to reading materials to neighborhoods across the country and eventually around the world. While they began here in my home state of Wisconsin, today there are 150,000 of these libraries all across the globe.
As part of my growth as an indie author, I have, over the years, updated many of my works many times, making tweaks to the interiors, completely overhauling the covers, and everything in between.
Because of this, I have a large backstock of books that I am not currently offering for sale because they do not match my current cover designs.
if you would like to help send these books out into the world for the free access of children and adults, I am offering to donate them on your behalf to Little Free Libraries around the Midwest, stopping in different towns as I travel for my bookish events.
The price I am asking is %50 of the amount I usually charge for each book, eliminating the vast majority of my personal profit and making this more about simply covering my costs than bringing in personal profit. It is a way for you to help fund my donating these works to readers with limited access to their own books.
In the interest of full legal transparency:
I am charging 5.00 for each novelette donation.
Each novelette costs me about $2.30 to print plus shipping costs which push the cost closer to $3.00, though that number varies.
There is also the time, gas, and work involved in finding and distributing these works to Little Free Libraries, which isn't all that much, but is still something.
Whatever money remains will be kept as profit. So, this is not a nonprofit enterprise. It is not in any way legally or commercially connected to the Little Free Libraries organization.
It is merely a way for me to make a very modest profit off of donating my old works to a good cause and a way for customers to cheaply fund donations to these free libraries.
