Orbital Quilt Pattern - A Temperature Quilt
Original quilt pattern designed by Zoe Mayson, in English paper piecing.
Designed to record daily high and low temperatures, the Orbital quilt gives you an easily manageable year long project, making a highly individual quilt.
Pattern comes with complete instructions, block guide, swatch card, temperature record sheet, an English paper piecing tutorial and a binding tutorial! It also come with printable templates, so you can get started straight away!
Fabric requirements
12 fat quarters in assorted colours, one for each month’s filler and background pieces
1 fat quarter plain fabric for the dodecahedron centres.
Fabric for each temperature - shown using 16 fabrics - amount will vary depending on the temperature where you are in the world.
Backing fabric - 12 pieces 19.5 x 19.5 inches, or 2-3/4 yards/ metres
Batting/wadding approximately 66 x 86 inches (or pre-cut twin batting), which leaves 4 inches on all sides for adjustments - or to your own preferences
Quilt back fabric - 66 x 86 inches - leaving 4 inches in all sides, or to your preferences.
Binding - 290 inches of binding made from 8 x 2.5 inch strips, cut from the width of fabric - 3/4 yard/m
Finished dimensions (without binding) 58 x 77 inches.
