The 1950s NFL was a small, brutal league where everyone played everyone and there was nowhere to hide. Cleveland arrived from the AAFC in 1950 and won it at the first attempt. Detroit spent the decade as the one team that could beat them. It ends with the Colts, sudden death, and the game that put pro football on television for good. Ten seasons, all playable.

1950 - The Browns arrive from the AAFC and win it at the first attempt.

1951 - Cleveland go 11-1 and lose the title game to the Rams.

1952 - Detroit break through and beat Cleveland for the championship.

1953 - Cleveland go 11-1 again. Detroit beat them again, by a point.

1954 - The Browns get their revenge, 56-10.

1955 - Cleveland win it again. Otto Graham's last game.

1956 - The Giants hammer the Bears 47-7 at a frozen Yankee Stadium.

1957 - Detroit take their fourth of the decade, 59-14 over Cleveland.

1958 - Baltimore beat the Giants in sudden death. The Greatest Game Ever Played.

1959 - The Colts do it again. Unitas back-to-back.
