Module 1 - An Introduction to Psychology
For Home Educating families and curious minds
For Home Educating families and curious minds
Why do we behave differently around other people? Can our memories change? Why do we form habits? How much do our experiences influence who we become?
If your teenager is fascinated by people, behaviour and the human mind, this course is an opportunity to start exploring psychology in an accessible and engaging way.
What's included?
Digital psychology course: A structured introduction to some of the fascinating ideas and questions explored by psychologists.
Student work booklet: Activities and questions designed to help learners engage with and reflect on the material.
Parent guide: Information and guidance to help parents support their young person's learning.
Who is it for?
This course is designed for home-educated young people aged 13-16 years who are curious about psychology. No previous psychology knowledge is required. It can be completed independently at your own pace, making it suitable for home education, enrichment or simply exploring a subject your young person finds interesting.
Your child will be able to explore a subject that goes beyond the traditional curriculum, engage their curiosity and develop an understanding of how psychologists investigate human behaviour. Alongside this, they will develop the skills needed to complete their own active research project in Lesson 5, bringing together the knowledge and skills developed throughout Lessons 1–4.
You don't need to be a psychology expert to support your child through this course! Your role is simply to encourage curiosity, discussion and independence.
