Four photography contracts, written to be edited in Word and signed on the day.

The Client Book: Contracts sits beside The Client Book: Emails and The Client Book: Releases. The emails carry the conversation. The contracts carry the agreement. The releases carry the permissions.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Portrait Session Agreement, for portraits, families, couples, headshots, seniors, newborns, maternity and boudoir.

Wedding and Event Photography Contract, for weddings, elopements, engagement parties and corporate events, with coverage, overtime, travel, second shooters, venue rules and what happens when the day cannot happen.

Image Usage License, for business clients, brands, publications and real estate agents. Check the uses you are granting, the territory and the dates. Anything not checked is not permitted.

Personal Use and Print Release, one page for the client to keep, so a print lab will print your photographs.

THE PARTS MOST TEMPLATES LEAVE OUT

A retainer written to be earned for holding the date, with the amount reduced if you rebook it. A second shooter's copyright handled by a signed assignment, not by a label that usually does not apply. A parent or guardian signs for a minor, and nude or intimate photography of anyone under 18 is refused outright. Liability limits that carve out fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence and injury to a person. A promise that the photographs are not used to train or build a generative system.

HOW IT WORKS

Open the Word file, fill every [BRACKET], delete what you do not use, save it under the client's name. The PDF is the same text, laid out to read and to print.

YOU RECEIVE

  • The Client Book: Contracts as a PDF, in US Letter and A4
  • Editable Word copies of all four contracts, together and one file each
  • A printable one-page guide to which contract you need
  • A plain-English license

PLEASE READ

These contracts are a starting point, not legal advice, and I am not your lawyer. Deposit rules, cancellation terms, minors and consumer contracts vary by state and country. Have a lawyer in your own state read them once before you rely on them. That single review costs less than one dispute. Carry liability insurance; these contracts do not set an amount and are not a substitute for a policy.

This is a digital download. Nothing is posted to you.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM

The emails, the releases and the contracts are sold together as the Studio Bundle, for less than the three separately.

HOW THIS WAS MADE

Fifty years of professional photography decided what is in this book: which agreements a working photographer needs, what each one refuses to promise, and what has to be in writing before the shoot. I used today's AI tools to help draft and format it, and I directed, edited and approved every line.
