Barbican

These toe-up socks with a traditional heel flap and gusset, have a simple and easily remembered stranded pattern. Use contrasting colours for best effect, maybe playing with a semi-solid or a gradient for one of the choices.

MATERIALS
2 differently coloured skeins of 4ply/fingering weight sock yarn, any that gives gauge should be suitable.

You should allow 100g for the each colour. The sample used:

• MC - Regia 4 ply in "1992 - Natural"
• CC - Scheepjes Invicta Extra in "1601"
Both yarns 460yds/420m per 100g

GAUGE
9 stitches and 10 rows per 1"/2.5cm, measured over stocking stitch in the round, for both colourwork and single colour portions.
