A gnome that can mix up her look! A mix-up with the annual Longest Gnight gift exchange meant that Gnova ended up with a lot of accessories …and a whole village of new friends.
She's the first gnome to feature an underhat. What’s an underhat? It’s the hat every gnome has under their out-and-about hat. It’s also, frankly, a way for me to resolve the problem of how to design a gnome with multiple hat options that doesn’t mean I have to decide what a gnome without a hat looks like! I’ve been pondering this for years, and it seems to me that only a gnome should gnow what’s underneath.

**Size**
Gnome height to top of underhat: 4.5” / 11.5 cm
Circumference at garter stripes: 8.75” / 22 cm
**Materials needed:**
•Fingering Weight Yarn
5 mini skeins Dream in Color Smooshy (85% merino, 15% nylon); 80 yd / 73 m per 20 g skein; colours shown:
C1 Cinnamon Girl
C2 Fortune Teller
C3 Black Purl
C4 Lavender Bloom
C5 Crying Dove
• Needles: US 1 / 2.25 mm and US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles for working small circumference in the round (DPNs, magic loop, 2-circs method, Flexi-Flips)
• Notions: yarn needle, removable stitch markers, a beginning of round marker, roving/polyfill stuffing, weighted stuffing like poly pellets/aquarium gravel/dried beans
