Biellese is the third of the Seven Sheep. Named after an Italian breed of sheep, because everything sounds so much better in Italian or French! Biellese is worked by knitting a side-ways two-tone ruffle. The ruffle is worked with the simplest of short-rows, no intarsia, no troubles! Then you pick up and stitches and work the slip-stitch body in alternating bands of color. The shawl can be worked up in fingering or DK weight - the DK one will just be bigger and cozier! Remember when working this (or any pattern) that gauge is way more important than needle size. The slip stitch body pattern will work up more tightly than a stockinette gauge.
