Mawqid
A mawqid is a furnace or stove, something meant to heat up a room or outdoor space. These men’s socks are knit with heavier yarn, and intended as slipper or boot socks to keep his feet warmed, likewise. Knit from the toe up, using a Turkish cast-on, and a make one, short row heel, these are a quick knit (and who doesn’t want that when making something for a man?), and a lovely gift for someone else or one’s self.
